Shaking table have been used for nearly a century. Early gold-separating equipment utilized impact to create asymmetrical reciprocating motion of the table surface, and was developed in 1890 for coal preparation. Gold-separating shaking tables were made by A. Wilfried between 1896 and 1898, employing an eccentric toggle mechanism. In 1918, Plant-O developed another transmission mechanism using a cam-driven lever. These two original shaking table structures, after improvements, are still in use today. After World War II, Germany developed a high-speed shaking table with eccentric wheel transmission. my country successfully developed an inertial spring-type shaking table in 1964, which has been widely used in production.


Shaking table gold-separating equipment is a gold-separating process using a shaking table as the main equipment. It is a device that performs mineral processing in a horizontal medium flow, consisting of a table surface and a transmission mechanism. The table surface is driven by the transmission mechanism to reciprocate longitudinally. The separation of ore on the shaking table is gradually completed during the reciprocating motion of the table surface. The factors driving mineral particle movement, besides gravity, are primarily the turbulence and differential motion of the bed surface. During movement, mineral particles undergo stratification perpendicular to the bed surface and separation parallel to it. The result of these two effects is that different mineral particles are discharged from different zones on the bed surface.


Currently, the 6S shaking table is commonly used in China. It is a physical gold-separating machine mainly used for gravity separation of heavy metal ores such as placer gold. Currently, it is mostly used domestically for gold and iron ore beneficiation. The separation of materials on the shaking table surface is mainly the result of the combined effects of three factors: the type of bed bars, the asymmetrical motion of the bed surface, and the lateral turbulence of the water flow. First, the vigorous shaking of the bed bars on the bed surface enhances the disturbance of the inclined water flow. This strengthens the vortex and the resulting vertical velocity component of the water flow, suspending the material and causing it to stratify according to density and particle size. At the same time, the intense shaking of the bed will also cause separation based on particle size and density. In addition, the inertial force of the differential motion of the shaking table surface and the scouring effect of the water flow cause mineral particles of different sizes and densities to move at different speeds and directions, which is the reason for the separation of products.
